Since I moved to Milwaukee, I became a frequent visitor to Chicago. Every time I go there I find a new place to visit. I have already compiled “things to do in Chicago” according to tourist aspects but today I am sharing some local perspective to view the beauty of Chicago. I love walking between the high-rise building but viewing skyline is much more fun. You can also plan a picnic date with your loved ones with a stunning view without spending money. There are so many viewpoints and restaurants from where you can get the spectacular view of the Chicago but these are best 5 places to view Chicago Skyline which I love. I know you are also excited to read about those places.
Best 5 places to view Chicago Skyline
Adler Planetarium Skyline Walk
This is my most favorite place to view the skyline. I saw this place very first time in 2014 and since then every year I go there and enjoy the view. There is a garden area outside the planetarium which is parallel to Lakefront trail. You can park your car in the designated parking and sit there for hours. You can use the Adler Planetarium address to reach there. Many people bring their picnic blanket, book, games and spend their evening with the view.
Buckingham Fountain
Those you have already visited this fountain knows that you will not see all the buildings of the downtown but the fountain with high-rise building makes it picture perfect place. And if you can take the panorama of this view you will love it. This park is open for public and it also has refreshment center if you want to buy food or drinks.
Navy Pier
Navy Pier is an all-inclusive package of fun. While you are walking on Navy Pier don’t forget to turn back to see the view of the city. When cross at least half of the pier you will see windy of Chicago point which is the best place to click some good pictures of the skyline. I will suggest if possible try to get the night view. It is simply stunning view at the night. You can also take the Ferris wheel ride which gives the pretty nice view as well.
Seadog Architecture tour
The Seadog architecture tour first takes you to the Chicago river and you can enjoy learning about the history of all buildings. After the architecture tour, they will take you to the Lake Michigan and you can see Chicago skyline from the Lake. It will give you the best view of the Chicago Downtown.
Shedd Aquarium
Shedd Aquarium is also located on the shore of Lake Michigan near Adler Planetarium. If you are not planning to visit this aquarium than it has lakefront trail parallel to it. You can go on the lakeside or try to locate Chicago horizon point.
Besides this 5 place, there are some beaches in the Chicago downtown to get the spectacular view. Those are listed below:-
- Montrose Beach
- North Avenue Beach
- Oak Street Beach
- 31st Street Beach
