Best ski places in Southern California
All these places are crowded during Christmas time, but let me tell you, Christmas feels magical when there is snow on the trees. You must be thinking I sound crazy but trust me; you need to experience a white Christmas once in your lifetime.
Big Bear Mountain
A big bear is a popular place among SoCal locals. It is almost two hours drive from Los Angeles and a great weekend getaway from urban life. There is two ski resort one is a bear mountain, and the other is snow summit. They have all the facilities, including ski gear rentals, so if you are 1st timer and want to give it a shot, then better to rent the gear before getting into it. Besides the winter sports, the Big bear village has incredible dining, shopping, and entertainment option. Don’t miss to experience a cabin stay and enjoy a beautiful view of the lake or mountains. Mammoth mountains
Mammoth mountains are a little more than five hours drive from Los Angeles and popular all around the year. Mammoth mountains have something to offer for everyone all season. At the same time, it’s famous for hiking in summer, a gem for ski lovers in winter. Even if you are not a winter sports person, you can still ride the Gondola and enjoy the view of the snow-covered mountains. For those who want a dive into the adventure, try snowmobile riding. I am sure you will have fun exploring tree-lined trails and huge meadows. Those looking for family fun, catch a lift to the top and slide down as fast as you dare in the woolly’s tube park.
Mt Baldy
Mt Baldy is the most convenient play for a one-day ski trip because it’s hardly 50 miles away from Los Angeles. This is an easily accessible place to plan a day trip and still have fun with winter sports. For those who never experienced snowfall, check the weather predictions, and drive there during snow predictions. Mt Baldy is a great place for a spontaneous trip because you don’t have to take a long drive and still enjoy the view. Mt Baldy offers asking, snowboarding, and snow tubing, but it also offers scenic lift rides that can take you to a notch recreation area. I must admit the view from a notch merely is magnificent.
Mountain high
Mountain high was three separate resorts, now turned into a winter wonderland with skiing, snowboarding, snow tubing. Moreover, it offers scenic sky chair rides and a snow play area, making it a perfect family fun place. A good thing is mountain high resort is just one and a half-hour drive from downtown Los Angeles. During your day in the snow, don’t miss the mountain top dining experience at the grand view lodge.
Snow Valley Mountain
Snow Valley Mountain Resort is located in Running Springs, California, in the San Bernardino National Forest. The snow valley is the oldest ski resort in Southern California. The Snow valley is a little less than two hours drive from Los Angeles. No matter if you are an expert and doing it for many years or just a beginner and trying to put your foot in the ski, Snow Valley has something for everyone during the winter.
