Laguna Beach has been my favorite beach so far in southern California. No wonder I try to get an excuse to drive there. Things are getting back to normal gradually (wearing a mask is the new normal); We decided to enjoy our Saturday at Laguna Beach. While enjoying the sun and playing with sand is fun, I also love the variety of the food California has to offer. Especially food options with a plant-based diet. While walking around Laguna beach, I have crossed Urth Caffe multiple times, but it was always crowded with people, so we pass on. But this time, I have decided I am going to try that place for sure. Because I loved the food I decided to write about the review of Urth Caffe’s organic coffee and food.
Urth Caffe at Laguna Beach
At Urth Caffe in Laguna Beach, you have to get in line to place the order 1st. After that, they will give you a number and then you need to find the table. Let me tell you, it’s challenging to find a good spot for sitting in their outdoor area. When we reach there, it was all occupied, and we had at least 8-10 people ahead of us. I wanted to try this place, so we waited in line. During our wait time, I checked out the menu, and I was amazed by so many plant-based options. Those who know I am a vegetarian. Those who don’t know vegetarians eat cheese and dairy, but no meat or seafood.
Review of Urth Caffe’s organic coffee and Food
I peeked at the display, and that desserts were so tempting I knew I have to try one of those. I love desserts, or should I say crazy for it. I ended up ordering Tiramisu. The moment you take the bite, it just melts in your mouth. The flavor of organic coffee in it is amazing.
We ordered Pizza Primavera. Generally, after you eat pizza, you feel heavy, but I don’t know what they used; we didn’t feel heavy. We were full but not heavy. I really like the toppings; they had poached asparagus, olives, tomatoes, and grilled artichoke hearts. I never had artichoke hearts on pizza, but I loved it.
We also tried Portabella Panini, and the grilled mushrooms in it were just out of this world. The combination of grilled mushrooms, roasted peppers, with pesto sauce tastes delicious. It is served with a side of salad.
I really like the service, and the staff is super friendly. They don’t rush to place the order. You can ask them as many questions as you want before placing the order. Once you place the order, they will bring food to you. Though if you want to order again, you have to get in line, so I would suggest placing the order in one go. I would definitely recommend this place, your trip to California cannot complete without it.
As for Urth Cafe. Locals don’t like it, only Tourists do. How they operate, to create an over enthusiastic atmosphere they have you order and then ask you to stand in line outside. This makes there cafe look like it’s popular. When they opened a friend found a dead roach in her salad.it happens, did you know the food is all frozen and put in microwave ovens then served! But there coffee is good.
